Need pics

Hello everyone I'm new to this forum and I have a 2004 Corolls S that I am looking to lower. I wanted to go with the H&R Race Springs withTokico Blue Shocks. So my question is can anyone provide pictures of the S model with a 2inch drop so I can make a decision. I've seen the picture section of everyones ride but nobody gives any details on their setups.

Someone will respond soon. I would post mine up, but I have an XRS (which stock is already 0.5 inch lower than other variants) so it will not give you an accurate idea:

Anyway, here they are since something is better than nothing. My drop is 2.0 inches at the front and around 1.8 inches on the back

My XRS on H&R race springs + 205/50/16 tires on stock 16 x6 wheels (very old back from circa 2006):

XRS on H&R race springs + 205/50/16 tires on Motegi lightweight 16 x 7 wheels:

Thank you for the reply hopefully people with a S model will post pics so I can get an idea. Now I do have 2 questions: 1) will running the tokico shock help with getting a lowered height my understanding is that its shorter than stock 2) I plan on running 18" wheels will that help close the gap between tire and fender or make it worst

1 - I have never heard of that. If you research everywhere on the internet, you see usually ride height I believe is controlled by springs. I think if you put shorter shocks with stock springs, it will not reduce the ride height much. I might be wrong, but that is what I think will happen.

2 - If you use 18 inch wheels on stock springs, it will definitely cover the gap between the fender and tire a bit more. However, since the entire circumference of the 18 inches wheel with tires (even when factoring lowest profile tires) is more than the stock circumference, the ground clearance of the car will actually increase. In short, yes the gaps between the fender and tire will fill more, but the car will look like an SUV with a very tall ground clearance.

The only reason you would need a shorter shock with lowering springs is if the springs lower the car so much that the stock shocks are so far out of their comfort zone they blow out. This is usually paired with a shorter strut housing as well. A lot of AE86 people have to do this with coilovers as any of the stock height shocks will blow so they cut the struts and run MR2 short stroke shocks and coilovers.

You really shouldn't have that problem unless the car is slammed big time.

No if you lower the car, it will reduce the ride height of the car. Remember a larger circumference wheel/tire will fill only a part of the gap and not all. Once lowering springs are used, it will lower th body and bring it closer to the ground.

You really should understand the difference between the two measures.
