2003 Corolla, Loud Humming Noise

I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla. Car had been making low humming noise from the rear/underside of car for a few months. Now has become a low roar, especially on the highway going over 60 MPH. ( Windows in the back are rattling and vibrating now etc). Bringing car in tomorrow to the Toyota service station. Any ideas on what it could be? Thinking maybe a wheel bearing? Thank you.

It's most likely either a bad wheel bearing or the tire itself being out of round.

If it's a wheel bearing and you have rear drum brakes, it's pretty easy to swap out the hub assembly if you are a DIYer with a jack and jackstand.

Positive it's the wheel bearing! I just replaced my back wheel hub assemblies took about 2 hours get some at amautoparts.com they are 97 for a pair shipped. Unless you have an s cause you'll need the ABS ones which are little more pricey, but totally worth it I couldn't stand to drive with that noise! Good luck!

Wheel bearing or tire roar due to bad tread.
