Headliner visor holders issue

Hey guys,

I deadened the roof of my 2006 Corolla and put the headliner back on. Im having an issue putting the visor clips back on. They are made of plastic and have no screws. The wont stay on and i dont see how they would stay on. To remove them all i had to do is twist counter clockwise and they popped out. Have you guys done this before? Do you know how to do it?

I think it's like a molly. You have to remove the white plastic clip from the holder and insert it. Then when you snap the holder into the plastic clip it expands and secures everything in place.

At least that's what it looks like to me.

It almost looks like it is supposed to lock into a metal bracket somewhere. Let's just hope that nothing was broken when you removed these.

Im going to try what you said. yes there is a metal bracket it fits in. its rectangular and the size of this holder. Maybe i have to take the white plastic part out and put it perpendicular to the hole and then insert the holder in it. I will do that today and see what happens.

That was not it. The plastic part does not come out. Any other suggestions would be appreciate it.

The only thing I can think of is if somehow you damaged the clip - or there was a piece that snaps in the rectangular hole that fell down and is now missing.

For those who feel they can help here is the picture he linked to:

Try twisting the white clip portion off - see if that comes off and reinstall. Hopefully, like MasterTecInSTL mentioned, once the visor holder is inserted and turned 90 degrees clockwise, it will "lock" them in place.

Might also try pushing them further in or pulling them further out - as they supposed to catch a metal lip on the mating side. Possible they are just missing it and not engaging the locking tabs.

Good luck
