2007 Corolla Valve Cover question

I have a strange situation. I own a 2007 Corolla. I managed to break one corner of the valve cover while removing it!!!! After searching for a while bought a Valve cover for a 2004 Corolla. I tried to instal it today but it seems to be a lot thicker than for the 07!!! The 07 takes 1 Inch bolts but those are too short for the 04. Everyone that sells them lists the same part from 03-08!!!! Any help, ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

It seems like you did not get a valve cover for a 2004 1ZZ-FE... Can you see a part number stamped on it anywhere? Is it not # 11201-22060 ?

Which model of 2007 Corolla do you have? 2004 Corolla was available with either the 1ZZ-FE (VVTi) or 2ZZ-GE (VVTLi)... Does your original 2007 valve cover not look like this?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-TOYOTA-CO...item1c201cba67

http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-TOYOTA-CO...item35b773262b

http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-04-05-06-...item1e600e02db

Can you get a photo of your original valve cover beside the used one you got?

Sorry I have a 2007 Corolla LE. I will pull it out and take some pictures. The only difference is the width. Mine takes 1 Inch screws the 04 take longer screws.

What we're getting at is there should be no difference at all between '04 and '07 valve covers as they are all the same from '03 to '08.. not even a height difference.

As a result we feel that the valve cover you received was NOT off of an '04.

If it was we're puzzled as to how you're running into this problem. Maybe pictures will help us figure out what's going on here.

Sorry for the delay. Okay I think I got to the bottom of it. The part number for the 04 I purchased is: 11201-0D030. I also bought one off a 06 which worked perfectly!!! When I googled that part number came up as 04-05 Corolla Valve cover. Although mine is fixed I am assuming there is more than one for those years.

Cylinder head cover sub-assy # 11201-0D030 is in fact listed as "Type B, See Illustration"... It may be what I have on my 2004.
