What lug nuts do I need?

I have a 05 Corolla with steelies and acorn lug nuts. I'm putting on a set of Celica GTS wheels but not sure what kind of lug nuts I need.

Should I be looking at 12X1.5 mag lug nuts with 13/16" hex head with a standard shank? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also Rockauto sells Dorman lugs, has anyone ever used them? Not looking for anything fancy, just don't want them to rust in a couple of years. Or should I upgrade to the professional grade lugs?

Celica GTS rims take OEM lug nuts

You need OEM washer lug nuts. Any Toyota with OEM alloys from around 1995-2012 should work as long as its not a 2007-2012 Tundra. 2008-2012 Sequoia, 1998-2012 Land Cruiser (5 lug 5X150). BBS and Enkei do not count as OEM alloys.

I did the same thing upgrading from steel rims to Matrix rims. I ended up biting the bullet and getting the lug nuts from the dealer and was super pricey. Luckily they took pity on me and gave me a slight discount.

It depends on the seat type of the wheel. Most likely it will be either conical or flat:



If conical then any 12mmX1.5 lug nut should do - even the original lugs. Make sure it is a 21mm hex (means a 21mm wrench fits it which is very close but not the same as 13/16"). You can use an open lug such as the following Dorman lugs:

611-866


or 611-066


You can also use chrome capped lugs such as 611-133


If the wheel uses flat type lugs then you need washer type lugs like these:

611-211 (Stainless)


or 611-117 (Chrome)


I've used Dorman lug nuts for years with no ill effects. They are good quality and last a long time.

I've already ordered the 611-211 lugs, hopefully I picked the right ones. Rockauto shows all 3 types of lugs for my Corolla, but for a Celica they do not show the conical lugs. So by process of elimination, I ruled the conical lugs and I already know the acorn lugs wont work.
The only question I had was the length of lugs I needed because for celica's there are 4 choices on Rockauto (32.5, 36.5, 37, and 47mm) and for corolla there are 36.5 and 37mm.
I picked the 36.5mm lugs.
