High RPM after cold start

Hey guys,

I have a Corolla E12 1,4 VVT-i. When I start the engine in cold, the engine revs up to about 2500 RPM. After 1-2 seconds comes down to 1200. Is it normal?
I made a video:

I'm pretty sure this is normal. For the first 1-2 seconds, the computer has to start to measure things.

It's normal depending how cold it is. Mine goes up to 2K then slowly drops to about 1,500 RPM.

yea i would say that is normal. mine goes up to about 2000 then comes down on warm days but more recently with the colder weather (4 degrees Celsius) the engine sits at 2000 for a while slowly coming down.

If your rpms were staying up that high longer than that then I'd say you might have a problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
