my dust plate behind my rotors need replacement...

Hi . I did my front brake today. changed the rotors and new pads.. I can see the dust plate, or is it how they are called ?, are literally falling apart. sections are gone. the car needs replacements for sure....

now my question is, Do I absolutely have to take off the hub to install new ones ? also on the dust plates, the small screws on them won't be easy to remove at best. realistically I think I will have to heat them red or something....

what do you think
thanks

The hubs have to come out to replace the splash shields, you'll probably need to replace the wheel bearings at the same time. Have you tried sourcing some complete knuckles at a salvage yard?

No you don't have to remove the hub. Just cut your dust plate so you you fit it around the hub and it's done.
