Project92~ that header came with a downpipe correct ? i really liked the idea of getting rid of that shitty OEM downpipe toyota had put on the ae92's & do you have clearance issues at all with the downpipe hitting the Axles ?
Nope, the header doesn't come with a downpipe. You ahve to custom fabricate one and also modify the cross member in order to install it correctly. That's why it took so long for me to get mine on =p and a LOT more $$ than I planned.
^ lol thats a drag !! Did you really have to modify the crossmember ?

but with CUSCO engineering they made it flow very nicely though I have yet to do any tests on that.
Kinda like the crappy engineering on cusco bolt-in rollcages. I'm not saying the manifold would be bad, I'm just saying its a very strange design, which I havent seen used anywhere else prior to that manifold.
haha yeahh! it sucked that I had to modify it. Basically cut a bit off and migweld a plate on. I guess it's all performance..no compromise. I like it =] ...but didn't like all the hassles i had to go through to make it all work hahahha
lol yea 800 + & no downpipe (or a whole exhaust) Id be pissed Haha

that's cool that you got it running.... have you test driven it yet?
also... the 4ag (afm based) doesn't have the fuel pump turn on until after you've cranked.... the wiring for the FP is in the AFM.... if the afm doesn't open then the pump won't turn on... it's a safety feature in case anything happens to the car (ie, accident... so the pump stops pumping fuel if the engine isn't running).... try it on any afm 4age... pull the air filter, turn the key to "on"... no FP... push the flapper door open and you'll hear it kick on

^ Doesnt sound right to me, with my 4age i could have the FP turn on when key is turned to ON on my ZE it has to crank, lol through me for a loop, i wanted to test my fuel system to make sure it wasnt leaking so i turned to on & i didnt hear a fuel pump lol thought my wiring was messed up !

ehhh... it ran fine... but not anymore... i think the header exhaust manifold went bad (damn crappy obx one).... Hopefully i didn't blow the main head gasket or anything.. the engine sound's usual piston-clicking is definantely louder now... =\ And i hear /feel some type of exhaust leak but I can't pinpoint it down.. going to take it back to the shop tomorrow.... =[
Hopefully it's nothing bad =[ =[
WHy is it that i I FINALLY fix one thing.. and the next thing breaks... the next day
Just had my JIC FLT-A1 coilovers put on wed... and also upgraded my steering wheel to a quick release sparco steering wheel.... and now this...
lol dont knock the OBX headers im rocken one & ive had no problems other then small fitment issues lol good luck ! How do you like those coilovers so far ? How much were they ?

They're unforgivingly stiff.. and for some reason.. i can only turn the stiffness knob 3 clicks total.... these are supposed to be 10 way adjustable... strange.. am i supposed to use a wrench?
So now im Stuck !! What do i do ? ive been planning to turbo this motor for along time, hell ive allready got prettyy much everything to do it But is it really worth it ? im loven the power & Torque of the ZE in stock form as is, im thinking with the Pulley i will be very happy with the power of this motor.. My original goals were to build it up to 250HP & beat some cocky DSM drivers... But my real goal is to have a quick & nimble Auto X Car !!
So what do i do ? ive got all winter to do some crazzy things !
in a couple weeks i could have my Pulley on & Dyno the car & hope for around 200hp & come winter Slap in a really nice clutch & some other Misc things...
Or
I pull the motor once again & swap Intake mani's & ditch the SC for all my turbo stuff ?
Ive decided not to go External WG so im gunna sell my tial & possibly just buy a 16g or another GOOD 14b turbo & get my Downpipe made..
Also id have to Re fab my piping, Buy oil/water lines, & Misc Gaskets & turbo stuff..
So what do i do ? continue the build to 250hp or Mod the ZE as is an just enjoy the car ?

i think with a front drive car a lightly modded gze is PLENTY.
if you want around or more than 250whp get a celica or even better get a 240!
I'm planning the same swap and if the pulley isn't enough you shoulda dropped the 3sgte!
Now see its comments like that That made me do this swap in the first place.... people told me over an over "its a corolla" buy something else & build that ! What makes the celica or 240 any better than what i got now ? your basicly tellen me to drop my project with thousands invested into it & start over with another POS... The ZE is a great building block for plenty of power !!! im not talkin crazzy power, what good is it if i cant put it to the ground.. i dont want this car to see anything over 250 HP As of now im thinking just keepen the SC & Try to get all my Temps down so the engine runs alot cooler than it does now..
