AE92 4AGZE swap !

Welp i know i talk the talk but ive never actually walked the walk..Its only taken me a good 4 years to finally take on the 4agze swap.. Finally i decided to just go for it when this AE101 4agze half cut came along.. cost me 2 grand just for the clip...which i thought was a pretty good deal for what i was getting.. Then i found out what shipping is going to cost & i began to think this is getting pretty expensive, 760 sum bucks to ship a big box across the US (an thats to a bussiness address ) anyways money spent aside, here it is..

These Brakes are HUGE !!!! Such a cool setup, To bad i cant use them though.. You can see i compared the ae101 rotors with my dinky ass ae92 rotors.. (what a difference )

So, the very first thing i did was do a compression check on the motor.. ive got 160/156/156/160 I am almost tempted to do another check on the middle cyl because i beleive i didnt crank long enough, either way there cetainly isnt anything wrong with those numbers..
Im still in the process of fabbing up a fuel source for the cut so i can actually run the car before i pull the motor.. hell i might just toss some wheels on it & go Drag race !! haha Get it mk enough jokes.. so all that fuel talk made me want to toss in my walbro 255 pump into the ae92
all in all for as bad as this car looks underneath it wasnt that bad, i didnt break anything & i didnt have to do it twice so i think i did good

& thats it for now.. going to pick up a new engine stand & hopfully begin to pull motors soon, Ill keep ya posted on the progress !!

Yea I have those brakes, they're sweet!

It's possible to use them, just needs abit of work.

most common way is to machine down the diameter or the disc (to about 263mm) and space the caliper out to suit.

One word of caution, that looks like an HKS pod filter.
If it is ditch it, they are terrible at filtering, flow really good though.

Mushroom of death they call them.. I got a Ractive one that I use once a while.. Actually it's on right now.

BTW, if you're ever interested I have a GZE hood that I "might" part out with eventually.

OKay today was A great day!!! lol too good infact... However.... i still havnt figured out if working in the winter freezing my butt off with frozen tools is better then getting sunburnt & eaten by bugs on a hot & muggy summer day? So i started my day off by running to the store & gettin an engine stand !! On sale for 55 bucks Sweet deal all its own, but it gets better, i had a gift card with 12 bucks on it Somehow, some way they made a mistake & it took off 31 bucks (the original amount on the card) lol so i ran off with my 28 dollar engine stand & headed back to the house with a big grin on my face.. From here i will let the pictures do the talking & comment as i go..

Here i have the car jacked up as high as i could, along with the Radiator & A/c removed... an also many other lines, hoses & splash gaurds.. So far pretty simple work... just takes time!

Here i got the hoist setup with light pressure & began to pull the top Mounts along with anything else that needed to be pulled... Also i began to remove all the bolts undernieth the car slid a jack under just to keep even pressure..

now the fun begins...

lol welp looks like the motor is pretty much out right ? well as you can see the motor was well on its way to landing on my hoist which made it difficult to figure out how to get the chassis away from the motor... there is a huge lapse of pictures missing lol hell i wish i coulda man'd a vid camera while i was doing this cause it be funny to watch me do what was neccesary & here is what happened next lol this made me laugh so here is the final picture !

Overall i thought this Went super easy ! i cannot beleive how well this car came apart.. i didnt have to fight a single bolt & every nut & bolt i took off looked like it did when it first went in.. i was pretty amazed at how clean This cut is !

& thats about all for now

Those mushroom filters arent bad, if you've oiled them with air filter oil. If they're dry, good luck with filtering.
