Well, since you are in South Africa, your car's emissions are different and it may not have the US "Check Engine" light...but in case you do, look at the picture below...on the "FIre wall" where you can see the chassis code "AE86-0226700"?? See that little box to the left of it near the wiper motor?? If your ride is a 1986 or 87 ONLY!!! If it is an earlier model, instead of that "Diagnostic" block, you will find 2 round plugs with nothing attached to them...one is bigger than the other, you want the BIGGER ONE of the 2 and that is easly; there's only 2 pins to short...just short them out, turn the ignition swith to on and count how many times the light blinks...it will blink several times and then will be off for a longer time than before...that means it has finish with that code...count them very carefull at it could: "blink, blink, blink"...off..."blink, blink, blink, blink"...off..."blink, blink, blink"...off... this means you have 2 code: Code #3 and #4...but if the blinks are the same number is just repeateing THAT code and you are done. just turn off the ignition and remove the jumper wire.
That is where you will have to install a piece of wire and Jump from one pin to another, then you turn the ignition key on and watch the "Check Engine" light blink...count how many times it blinks and that is your code!!
For the pins to short you will need a maitenance book as it may differ with since you are in Africa...also, if your ride is Right Hand Drive the plug will be on the opposite side of the firewall.

If your ride is a 1986 or 87, the "Diagnostic" box will look something like this...
