USA Distributer O ring leaking

I own a 1990 toyota corolla LE, the dealer states the distributers O ring is leaking what affect if any would this have on my vehicle?
Dealer wants 125$ dollars to repair, is it worth it?

just mark the postion and do it yourself,, put an exact mark on the block... with paint (white) or scratch it there...
or spend the $125.00

even if it came to you messing the timing up, it would still be cheaper to do it yourself and have someone do the timing for you after

Which O-ring? If outside on the housing nothing will happen but leaking oil. Takes about an hour to change including retiming. If leaking on the distributor driveshaft oil can leak into the cap and result in ignition problems over time. This seal is more difficult to replace.

You need a press to do the inner seal, because you need to press out the distributor pin.
