1991 corolla dead PLEASE HELP

I posted this thread cuz i couldnt figure out the problem on my 91 corolla. But yeah the other day i was driving up a ramp and noticed the engine starting to overheat and well it shut itself down. But now it wont start up again. Ive changed the starters and everything else seems fine but whenever i try and start the car the engine wont turn. Itll crank but thats all it does. Ive checked the fuel line. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you mean that you've changed the spark plugs? And how did you check the fuel line?

it turns, but won't crank?? what does that mean?

Looks at plugs, see if there is any sigh of coolant, water. Check to see if camshaft is turning, in case the timing belt broke. Maybe a temp sensor triggered the ecu and that needs reset? (maybe not, but ya never know) Was it really over heating, or was there a coolant fan malfunction, which triggred the ECU to make it think it was overheating, broken, and a relay went bad?

need more info..

If the engine cranks and turns over but doesn't start then the starter is fine. I would pull out one of the spark plugs and check for a spark by holding thread end to ground. If you have spark and the fuel is fine you need to check for compression in the cylinders.

well, i'd say it sounds like the timing belt broke (happened to my sis when she was driving my parents '91 Corolla, which i am now driving...) the overheating leads me to believe that you may have done some damage to the motor internally... but hey, wtf do i kno... i'm only 16 (17 in less than a month ) and am only really good with old school muscle cars
