My friend's old crown vic's speedo stops at 85 I believe. he figured out an easy way to tell the mph after that would be by looking at where the back of the needle points at top speed and how far up it went from there.

Nothing quite like descending a mountain road at speed, foot to the floor and hearing the fuel cut at the speed limiter keep hitting every couple seconds.
