Loosing power?

I put a post up about my oil pump going out and was just wondering, Right when the pump started making noise, iwnt straight to my mechanic. The day before any of this the car felt like it was loosing power, like it would bog down in the low end but after about 2500 rpm or maybe a bit more(i dont have a tach) the car runs good. It almost feels like when your climbing a hill and your clutch is going bad. I am 38 and have never owned a auto trans car so i know what a clutch feels like when its going out..this is different. It will loose power badly going up any hills too. My mechanic said it could be fuel pump/filter related or just needs a tune up..i have not done one in about 40k miles. BTW I almost forgot the car is a 91 sedan dx with a 5 speed , fuel injected 4afe. Any suggestions?

I think if it was fuel starvation, it would be more pronounced at high RPM, not low.
I would start with the tune-up, and have them check the compression at the same time.

AE92

I think it's like 160 or 170 psi for minimum.

I don't think it's fuel starvation, I think it's too much fuel or too little air getting in the intake. Could be timing...

Optimum is 191psi.
Minimum is 142.
Maximum difference between highest and lowest cylinders is 14 psi.
