4afe intake ports are MUCH smaller, even compared to the smallport 4age head. The intake valves are similar in diameter, but the exhaust valves are notieably larger on the 4age heads.

Also note the combustion chamber shape.... the 4age is more round and the 4afe isn't (probably due to it's angle of the valves)... mated with the dish on the 4afe pistons the 4afe obviously has lower compression as well (even vs a bigport IIRC).

i have a 4af head laying around and the combustion chambers look the same as are the cams etc.

ill try to remember to grab my large-port head too...
