Go to a junkyard and find a cluster with a tach. You just slap it in and everything is pre-wired. I just did mine last week and everything works fine including the tach. Its simply plug and play. Happy hunting.

Now that is a different story. If you want, just find a cluster with almost the same mileage as your's because you can take out just the whole speedometer from the cluster assembly but not just the mileage counter within the speedometer. And you don't want to change just the speedometer because the speedo with the tach has a different lighting system (has a glass like thing on the rim for better lighting and the needle lits up, the other w/o tach, the lights are coming from just the side and the needle does not lit up) from that of w/o a tach. Or if the cluster w/ tach is different from your own mileage, just use a drill, put something like a BBQ stick to connect the speedometer port and your drill and turn it either forward or backwards to go the mileage you want. A wooden stick because you can just trim it to fit.

I'm going to the junkyard to get a new rear passenger window so I think I'm gonna try this. Did LEs have the option of a manual transmission?
