AE92 Ae92 Gt-s Pilot Bushing!?!?!?

So I finally got a clutch kit for my car(1989 ae92 gt-s). I have the correct clutch disk(200mm, I compared them) and everything else. When I was getting everything unbolted, I finally got the tranny popped off from the engine, and one of the first things I noticed was that there wasn't a pilot bearing. The pilot bearing that came with the kit doesn't seem like it would fit anywhere. I've got pictures of the crank side and the tranny shaft side.

Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to even be a pilot bushing used? If there is supposed to be, where would it go? Is it possible that something snapped off from the tip of the tranny shaft? Are there any other possible things that may have gone wrong?

From the driver side wheel well looking at the back of the engine with the flywheel off.

Heres the shaft that goes into the clutch disk splines and stuff.

Help is Urgently needed. Any input would be appreciated.

SHOOT O_O. I kinda jumped the gun. I did an extensive search and have discovered that alot of your FF cars don't have them. The shaft is supported my in the hole pretty much I guess....On a different note, would most people strongly agree that due to the amount of oil and crud that is on that plate(first picture), that I will definitely have to replace my engine rear main seal?

Not definitely. Since you've got the tranny off, replacing the rear main seal is probably a good idea. But just from looking at that, I think the problem might be higher on the engine. On a lot of engines, a leak from the distributor or valve cover can drip down into the bellhousing and make it look like your main seal is bad when it's fine. Any oil leaks on the rest of the engine?

considering your practically looking at it i would knock it out for sure...

but i also agree with ghostyman considring the valve-cover always leaks eventually and the top of my tranny looks pretty dirty

Well, of course the distributor is leaking. LOL. So is the valve cover around most of the "seal".

I definitely planned on replacing the rear main seal, sealing up the valve cover(RTV FTW t^_^t), and the spark plug tubes as well.

yeah I was going to comment on the amount of oil sprayed all over... it looks like it might have been a reason for the clutch to go... It's one of the reasons the one on my ex's tercel went. Rear main seal! replace it while you can

I was saying MINE has a 200mm and i THINK yours uses a 212mm.

On a different note, TONS of water in the spark plug valley(got it mopped up). The spark plug cover seal was pretty much like old brittle plastic. It was instantly breaking off into little pieces.

I'm in the process of getting of the valve covers. They absolutely REFUSE to come off. They are damn stuck on there pretty friggin good.

Working in the rain FTL.
