NEW PROJECT: I've decided to redo the entire interior of my corolla (91 sedan).

I figure I can do it for a couple hundred bucks and I'll come away with the know-how of upholstering. I'm gonna post pictures as I do this. I want suggestions of any aspects you guys can think of, such as what to do with the door handles and the manual gear stick cover. Whatever that thing is called.

My thoughts so far...

• All cloth seats and headrests. What color?
• Vinyl and/or faux leather on the dash/plastic pieces throughout the car. Again, I don't know what colors.
• I'm gonna redo the rear deck with some contours and new speakers (6 and 1/2s or something similar). What color and materials?
• The door panels are getting redone completely... I don't want them to look plain and flat. I'll probably use more than one color and texture of vinyls.
• Headliner color?

The upholstery will be relatively cheap. My estimate is that I will need between 6 and 10 square yards of materials (headliner not included in that estimate), which will probably cost me less than 200 bucks because most of the upholstery will be fabric, and even the nicest faux-leather is pretty cheap.

I have some ideas that I think you all will like but I'm not gonna tell you until I have some pictures. Send your ideas my way I'm open to anything.

What color is your car?

It's blue, but needs repainting badly. If I get it painted in the near future it will be a dark blue, maybe blue green. I probably won't paint it though, unless I can get a good deal. But anyways I want to go with a dark color for the interior. It's currently navy blue inside but I am going change it 100%.

First thoughts - I'm going to make the seats two-toned, a dark black interior and a grey outer part.

I like the tweed inner, and softer fabric outer idea.

This is what design I'm going for (Minus the red on the sides and top). Different colors and not just a seat covor... but that's what I'm trying to describe with inner and outer.
