Cool Gts Conversion

i'm about half-way through my GTS conversion from a 91 DX sedan

I've already got a build thread so i'm not putting up pics unless requested.

Heres my question: the rear hard-lines go all the way back and actually thread into the drum assy.
does anybody have a pic of what the gts hard-line lookes like?

i'm trying to figure out if i can modify the DX hardline to have the correct fitting to thread into rear-disc brake lines

otherwise the only solution i can think of is finding a gts and pulling the hard-lines but i'd like to avoid that... pretty sure the only GTS around is all fucked up from when i jacked the proportioning block

TIA

are you sure they even have hardlines?

I have to look at my calipers and my SS GTS lines I have when I get home...

I hope this isn't some other dumb thing I need for my conversion

seriously... basically you've got your hard-lines coming out of the proportioning valve pass front and the 2 rear...
i assume they just feed through like the fronts and the flexible lines simply thread on with crush washers.

if this is the case i'm gonna have to buy e-brake cables, hard-lines, soft-lines... my car really is gonna be NEW...

why do you need new hardlines? the ones for the GT-S I'm pretty sure are the same. you probably just need new rubber soft lines. (or get a set of SS lines)

at first I thought you meant a hard line coming from the caliper to the rubber line...

your drums shouldn't have a hardline directly in them.... there has to be a softline somewhere (hardline on the body with a softline to the suspension).... there has to be a softline as a hardline would bend/break... I would assume the hardlines on the body are the same and you should just go out and purchase softlines for the calipers......

I have everything to do it, just haven't yet.... (have a full suspension setup from a prizm gsi)

just lookin at an old pic so i don't have to pull a tire off...
ok it looks like toyota ran hard lines to soft-lines then hard lines again for the drums... isn't this retarded!!!!

i guess i never noticed the soft-lines attached ill have to see if the lines will be long enough to replace both...

pretty clearly a Hard-line going directly to drums... thats what i thought might cause problems...
(either the gts soft-line not long enough or totally wrong...)

The GT-S soft line goes directly to the caliper. So you just need to get (preferably new) GT-S soft lines and you'll be good to go. You'll just toss the little hard line that goes to the drum in the trash.

tirerack sells Stainless steel lines for GT-Ss that you can use.

I'm decently sure they are, but you can just compare them

I usually try to rest my calipers on a suspension arm or something, it usually works, except when it falls on me when I'm doing stuff...

yeah that I do as well... but if I am right there... sometimes I let them hang so they don't fall and hit me... it's only really bad if the line is in bad shape

front brakes are the same until 90..... they got a bit bigger, but the calipers and pads are the same.... this is what has been said on here 1,000 times...

not entirely sure it's true, though...... my ae92 (90 sr5 chasis) currently has a 90 prizm gsi front hub on it since the bearing on the sr5's went out.... I didn't have any problems with the SR5 caliper and rotors..... if the rotor is actually bigger then the caliper shouldn't have fit correctly.......

hmm.. when I pull the motor in it (again) i'll check to verify I'm not lying here.....
