AE92 engine re-birth

Ok so when i got my car, i had a lot of "rice" and rust / oil in my engine compartment. I fixed 4 oil leaks, new oil cooler lines and cooler, intake, filter, plugs, pretty much a good ol' tune up. Here is the valve cover and recent addition....the cherry bomb....

Its awesome. Enjoy.

That cherry Bomb sounds AWESOME! I was soooo weak when i heard it, i was doing it as a joke, but it actually sounded better than a fart can ever could....deep and aggressive. Its the best $30 i ever spent.

I made the intake up myself from parts at Pep-Boys lol They make universal intake kits and i just pieced it together. Worked out great and sounds good.

Nice, what length is that pipe? I'm thinking of doing the same myself but I'm trying to see if it would be cheaper than just getting the cosmoracing kit.

That valve cover is amazing.

Very nice conservative engine bay.

Its 2 inch diam. and 22 inchs long. I got it welded on for $40....and it cost $30. Later on i will get headers, high flow cat, full 2 inch and run one cherry bomb right behind the cat, then one at the back and maybe put a tip on it. Two of them will make it a little less noisy which i will need with headers and full 2 inch.

I am glad someone shares my taste...i love different things. I will keep it simple, the headers will be black, and i will probably clean up the timing belt cover piece next. Oh, and the distributor too.

How do you like that air filter? I was thinking of picking one of those shorties up.

It's the spectre one right?

oh cool. The parts stores around me (including the chain I work in) only have spectre stuff.

And I know what you mean on the cheery bomb, usually I hate glasspacks, but a friend of mine has a cherrybomb on his 4cyl alero, and actually it sounds damn good.

Nice.

I would probably do something with the exhaust on mine, but I'm still with the 4afe and I'd rather not advertise my lack of power right now lol.

So $70 for the pipe basically? plus what... another $30-40 for the sleeves and the rings and filter?

I've actually seen pipes that come that way, might be cheaper than getting it welded.

I like that shiny 710 cap too.

Huh? lol The glass pack was $30, and i paid to get it welded on the existing exhaust pipe. The intake was just 2 pieces, and a filter and some silicon couplers i had laying around from a turbo build back in the day.

I think we misunderstood each other, I was talking about the intake piping.
