Question T-VIS Controller

So...
I know there exists a T-VIS controller made by pampe performance, but I don't think they exist anymore? Anyway, I read on Club4AGE that you can control T-VIS actuation by just an "Apex'I Rev-Speed-Meter and a 5 prong relay".
A poster also said "The TVIS supplies current to the VSV to close the butterflies at idle and under 4300 rpm. The old rev-speed meter (RSM) only supplies current **above** your selected rpm or mph variable. So... if you were to hook the RSM straight to the TVIS VSV it would work exactly in reverse... butterflies open and then when you reach your set-point the butterflies would close. A 5 prong relay just allows you to reverse the output of the RSM."
So my next question is, how would you hook this up and has anyone done it? Someone on 4AGE said they had, but it's an old thread and didn't know if I would get a response from there. Here's the thread:

I feel Déjà vu, lol. It's very simple to do this. You basically take the two wires that go too the vacuum solenoid of the T-VIS, one is ground, the other is the activator power which is always on until you reach the 4400rpm range (88~89 AGE). Cut the activator wire and tape off the end that goes back to the computer. Take a 30~40 amp 5 prong relay and hook 12 volts to 87a. Hook 30 of the relay to the activator wire of the T-VIS solenoid. Hooking to 87a will allow 12 volts to pass through the relay to 30 all the time when the relay is not activated. Hook the ApexI up as per instructions. Use one of the control outputs from the ApexI that is activated at your set point and connect it to 85 of the relay, connect 86 of the relay to ground. You’re done.

I'm not sure about the 4AGE but in the 3SGTE community, people use a RPM switch to energize it at certain RPMs. Everyone used a MSD 8950 + RPM pills but Summit Racing has an adjustable RPM window switch that will be cheaper and easier to set up.

The best way to find the crossover point where you want to energize TVIS is by doing two dyno pulls back-to-back. Do one pull with the TVIS open all the time and do another pull with the TVIS closed. Overlay the graphs and set the switch to engage at the point where the graphs cross.

Good luck!

Someone can confirm this but I believe pre 88~89 AGEs the vacuum solenoids were energized to activate but the 88~89 they switched to always energized and de-energized to activate. The solenoid basically was energized all the time and kept the valve closed, de-energized a spring opened up the T-VIS at around 4400.

From what I've read in stock form the AGEs crossover point was basically at or very close to the factories 4400 point, each motor could be slightly different though, especially if you've done any mods to the motor.

Do what Ghostyman says and just get a RPM/window switch, that's what I did last weekend. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Summi...Q5fAccessories
