i need some input please!

Here is the deal. When i release the clutch and give the car throttle to get it going, once the clutch hits the friction point and starts to roll, as soon as the friction point is hit there is a "clunk" noise from upfront. This also happens when i pretend to be a race car driver and shift hard and fast. Basically, whenever i pull from a red light, that initial depression of the clutch, there is a thump or clunk from up front. I just recently had one of my cv axles replaced and i think it was doing it before, but i am not sure. What could this be? I also have a bad front end shake at 60 mph up, i will get a tire rotation and balance this weekend and see if that helps any.

So, does anyone have an idea as to why there is this clunk?

sounds like a bad engine mount

I'm guessing motor mount also (for the clunk at least). Tire rotation, balance and alignment will probably cure the front end shake.

Yea i need to check my mounts. It couldn't be the axles, i mean, if it was, that would mean there was play in the joints them selves but that isn't possible.

Anyone ever replaced all 4 mounts? How hard is it?

The mounts can be "fixed" yourself by pulling them out and filling them with something like 3M WindowWeld or silicon RTV. I haven't done it yet on my AE92 (it's on the list of things to do though). From looking at it, you probably just need to support the engine with a jack and then do each mount one by one.

On the 3S you can remove both front and back at the same time as only the sides hold it up (F&R are for controlling torque movement) but I'm not sure if it's the same on the 4A.

Probably not the axles, given the symptoms. An alignment/balance/rotation should fix you up.

I have heard about that. The best thing it seems is to remove the mounts one at a time and filling them with silicone to act as a damper. New mounts are $$$$$!!
