Question AE95 All Trac Swap Options/Questions

Hey guys I searched through the engine swap stuff but didn't really get what I was looking for.

Anyway, I'm not going to pretend like I'm planning on swapping a new motor in soon (unless my trusty 4afe blows up), but I am curious about options down the road in case I decide that I have too much money and need to get rid of some.

So far, I have only come across something about the ribbing of the blocks. I wasn't sure what exactly about the ribbing was important. Also there was something about the the 4agze supercharger not clearing the transmission. I saw a thread a few months back with this info, but now i can't seem to find it anywhere on the web

I've seen a few 4wd 20v's online, but nothing with clear pictures or any kind of description of the fitment issues involved with the 4wd transmission.

I half expect to get flamed for another swap thread (i dont blame you, there are quite a few), but I appreciate any answers and replys.

You're right, there is NOT much info on here or the web regarding AE95 swaps that I know of... you best bet is to keep googling different search strings and see what info comes up.

As far as I know, there is a tab on the AE95 transmissions that interferes with any swaps, not saying it hasn't been done, but I believe the tab had to be shaved off in order for the engine to clear the transmission, that opens you to a lot of options such as the 16V and 20V 4AGE swaps.

Another way that it has been done is to retain the 4AFE block from your current motor BUT to swap on the 16V head from a 4AGE, this would also involve swapping harness, ECU and of course all sensors required with the 4AGE.
