All Dash lights gone

eh i put in a new headunit and i accidently touched the ground wire to an illumination wire that goes to the headunit and it shorted all the interior dash lights....

my head lights and dome light still works.

i dont know what fuses to check. after spending 300 bucks i end up having no lights inside my damn car and its pitch black when i drive.

Check them all, that's the only way to find which one you burnt.

I've installed 3 decks on AE92s plus an amp/sub combo and haven't blown a fuse yet, otherwise I'd help you out.

ALWAYS UN-DO YOUR BATT FIRST

i hope we learned from this.... if you are doing ANYTHING even close to electrical, its a really quick way to prevent a ton of potential harm!!!

anyway like ren said definately check ALL your fuses you have a fuse block on both sides by your feet, and then your engine bay and positive block. it should be driver-side that's where all the main fuses go... i don't think i have even replaced half my fuses in the last 5 years.. but i do have a bunch of wiring to do

Of all the wires I touched together and grounded, intentionally and accidently, to see what they were for it never blew a fuse. Of course, I knew what neg and posi wires do, but the speaker wires and amp.

If you checked all the fuses and they're all fine, check the dimmer switch/ knob.

I remember installing my Sony deck at one point and later at night I had no dash/ console lights. Fuses were all good. Then when I said screw it, I accidently kicked the lower kickpanel with my left knee and there she lights! I guess the dimmer was internally loose, but it still works with a little wiggle of the knob.
