Got no love from the MR2 guys

Yep, it smokes, yep it's not the cleanest setup, yep it doesn't have an intake... and yes, it's very loud. (motor has only run for about 30 min total, this was just during a coolant/overheat test).

I'll have to get a clip of in the car driving at some point.



Friend of mine who also has an MR2 and an 88 alltrac (10psi on a newly rebuilt ct26).... "holy ____ this thing is fast..... the celica would take it top speed, but this would walk away from the celica at lower speeds". He rode in it as well (drove it too, I think) when it had an E series and the 101 motor. This is an ae92 motor with the 101 components, running on MS1 v2.2/edis. Has NOT been tuned Back in the day it got 14mpg with the s/c on, and 40 with it off.

FYI, didn't have the computer out (and the tach isn't hooked up).... would guess this is about a 1,200 rpm to 8,000 rpm rev.

could be many things..... the previous engine had been blown up pretty much and oil went everywhere... plus it appears there had been a trans lead and gear oil was everywhere....

on top of that the mechanic who worked on it before I got it got his greasy hands all over everything, plus caused other problems.....

even more, it runs PIG rich.... i'm sure it has an exhaust leak and a boost leak on the IC.
