i was looking around and it seems that the 93-97 corolla uses the exact same struts and springs as the AE92 (88-91 4-door and 2-door)...does anyone out there know if this is true??
because the springs for the 93-97 are more common, less expensive, and are of more variety.

I don't know if they match or not but I know they're some variety on springs. IE: Eibach, Apex, B&G, Intrax, Sprint and for Coilovers: GC(Sleeves), TEIN, K-Sport

I remember looking into this, but next time I'm at work I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure the mounting points at the knuckle are the same but the springs and seat are larger in diameter.
On a similar note... does anyone know where to get springs that raise the car? Maybe something that's from another car but is the same diameter?
Im scared....
When I'm done, I'll be somewhere between jmaz87 and okiejoe in terms of Mad Max-ness. I want more ground clearance on this... bigger tires and a slight spring raise might be just what I need. Then it's time to see what this thing can do offroad in the desert with snow chains and a come-along.
If you have a GT-S it's cheaper to use the GT-S suspension -- reason being that stock GT-S suspension has "serviceable" struts. You only need to purchase the strut inserts rather than the entire strut unit.
As for springs, play it safe and just order for an ae92.
