silvertop swap: transmission and drive axles

hey im currently in the process of having my engine swaped. i bought a silvertop complete engine with tranny and its going into a sr-5. the engine is in the car and good to go but i need axles for it. the stock axles do not fit the new tranny. i was wondering on what tranny comes with a silvertop. i believe its a c52 but not sure. i have been way to busy to go to the shop and check my self. and does a gt-s come with a c52 tranny cuz if it does then ill just go to an autoparts store and just order axles for a gts. sorry for such a newb question but this is my first project car ever and im new to the world of toyotas. thanks for the help

first gen silvertops have C52s and second gens have C56s

I'm pretty sure all C series axles should fit though...

What is the factory transmission code for an SR5? Isn't it a C-series also?

ahhh, I know what you're talking about now. I think you might be able to take out the extension bar... or you might be able to get some that'll fit maybe from a GT-S or an MR2....

I know a bunch of people know this... they'll wander into this thread eventually

Your sr5 if its standard came with the c50 stock like eage8 said. All c series axles will swap over to any other c series. your swap most likely came with the drivers side axle cut or the shaft was taken out of the cup that goes into the transmission.

All silvertop and blacktop equipped cars came with equal length passenger side axle. So they probably left the part bolted to the block and again took out the rest of it that bolts into the steering knuckle.

Your options are use another drivers side axle and use it on the passenger side so you still maintain the equal length axle or use your stock unequal length axle from the sr5.

Here is a picture of what your should look like, just tell the shop they can use a drivers side in the cup for the passenger side. If its damaged or not useable just put in your sr5 axle.

I edit because if anyone else is reading this I'm not sure if lsd equipped c-160s will take a regular c series axle or if its specific to that trans
