Question Check Engine Light Code 41 after replacing vaccum lines on 4af

This one has stumped me. I was replacing the vaccum lines on an 89' 4af and doing one at a time to avoid any mix-ups. (I was replacing them b/c of a previous vacuum leak that made my idle kick down 200 rpm every second or so when the engine was used and started a lot that day). After finishing, the check engine light would come on after about 5 mins. of driving. The Code 41 appeared indicating throttle positioner system.

Does anybody have any ideas? (There is a small possibility that a vacuum line might have gotten mixed up with another b/c I had to leak one off to get to a hard to reach one at times.) Thanks.

Recheck vac connections on throttle positioner ( dual vac unit on side of carb).

could i have just bumped something electrical? I am pretty sure the vac. lines are not mixed up, but I was reading that there is a solenoid valve and a switch to make sure that they are plugged in still. Any thoughts?

UPDATE: Problem has not been solved, but I have noticed that the choke doesn't seem to work very well. There is little to no fast idle, and you have to keep your foot on the gas for a little bit so that the engine doesn't die. I may second guessing not switching some vacuum lines. Does anybody have any pictures? The diagram is hard to understand. Thanks

I sent you a private message. The pictures are too large to post them all here.. and I will have to remove them soon from where I posted them.. I posted them here a long time ago and that link seems to have disappeared.. or hard to find..

Now I have two codes. 41 AND 31. The latter is for MAP sensor. Now I am thinking I got a couple of the lines switched around wrong. I will try to re route them and let you know how that goes. Thanks for pics.

well since your car must have FI and not a carb,, (you said you have a Map sensor... )then what good are the pictures of the carb hoses?

maybe some hoses might help... I hope they do, but my guess is that you need info on on FI hoses if you have FI,, and for those people without California Smog controls, you will need pictures of the vacuum hoses from an angine that is setup like yours. Pictures might not even help,, because it's just too difficult to follow hoses in pictures..

The MAP sensor is usually found on fuel injected engines. That 31 code must refer to something else on your carbed engine.
