Ummm. It all depends. I know my silvertop has a limiter at about 7500. Late silvertop ECU's spin them higher. The blacktop is higher yet. No stock 4A engine revs to 9K though. When considering an engine for a build I would consider more than the rev limit of the motor... for instance the silvertop is much better for boost in stock form than the blacktop because of a lower compression ratio and stronger con rods.
The rev wasn't the deciding factor, I just heard that and it blew my mind.
Basically, I found a silver top, for really cheap. I wanna buy it and just throw parts at it here and there, and throw it in something whent he time is right.

Make sure you get all the wiring, ECU and sensors.
Not just the sensors attached to the engine, but all the sensors.

4agze- much more torque, can be found domestically.
silvertop/blacktop- allegedly not as much power as claimed but you need to really rev those to get the power out of them. have to be imported and finding parts can be a bit problematic.
both have pros and cons, do a search you'll get some more knowledgable sources

On the red bar going accross the top of the page, there is the word search of to the right side.
Also on the front page of the forum "GEN 6 Corolla", you will see it in about the same location.
Just type in the key words you are looking for like "20V blacktop vs 4A-GZE" or something like that. Sometimes you need to be creative in selecting key words and juggle them around a bit to find what you are looking for.
