Why don't you try lifting the front of the car, put the tran in neutral and hand roll each wheel to see if it rotates freely or not...if not, look under to see if it is hitting or binding on something. Is tran auto or manual?

Be very careful, because you could damage the tranny. I would try taking the part back and reinstalling it. Something wasn't done right. The part may also be defective. CV axles are a bitch at times. I just did mine. Good luck to you.

Another thought...was the new axle one piece or two piece?

Question

oH shit! I hope the C-Clip --retainer at the end of the axle shaft that is at the tranny end-- did not fall off into the trans!

thats what I was thinking about the c-clip. If it did fall off or get damaged, how can I get it out. can I get into the transaxle easily somehow to check it?

It comes as one piece, but if you neglect to repair it.....it will be two.
