Lift up the front end, put the gear in neutral and spin each of the front wheels by hand. Note any sound, roughness, etc. If there is, then it's the CV.
Hopefully, you don't have my past problem. If there's no sound when you have the front end jacked up and checked, you could have a problem in the differential. Mine dried up and was for a LONG time. The bearings and shit ate itself away and eventually it locked up.
