No such thing for a 4AFE I believe, when I looked for a filter for my GTS the only one that would come up was the 4AF round drop-in. I ended up doing the AFM adaptor plate with a cone filter, now there are quite a few SRI kits available.

The answer is YES to all three queries. Though the K&N replacement panel filter is a superior product, the performance gains and sound would be marginal at best. Other than the claim of better performance and fuel mileage, it's the million mile warranty of the K&N that's the selling point. You'll never need to buy another air filter again.

If you're looking for more of a difference in sound and performance, a short ram or complete cold air intake with a pod/cone filter is your best option. You'll notice a difference in sound right away and depending on how in tune your "seat of the pants" senses are, you should feel a bit of a performance boost as well.

If anything, the performance sound of an intake system will give you an audible illusion of boosted performance!

I ended up with a ITG drop-in replacement filter and altough the sound didn't change a bit, the engine seemd to appriciate the better breathing. It ran nicer and I was able to feel that it did pull marginally better.

But than, I was really 'in tune' with my car as Nexusrift so nicely says And I got used to it pretty fast, so the feeling of better performance is gone after a few days

searching ftw

I had one too, but I bought mine just because it could be washed, oiled and reused again. Saved me $$$

No performance gains whatsoever.
