It's being turbocharged, so supercharging should work aswell

Supercharging might actually be easier than turbocharging the 4A-F.

yea but you have to replace way more stuff...

you need intake manifold supercharger Assy. pully, i'm sure some electronics (magnetic clutch)

it's more expensive/hp gain

Why would you have to change more stuff?
Just throw on a roots and get a belt that fits. Plumb the piping to a pressure box surrounding the carb. Tadaa... Youd need a bypass valve for the idle, if the air doesnt suffice whats being sucked past the rotors, nothing too hard, magnetic clutch is easy to handle, you can make a madmax style switch if you want
With efi it would be even more easy, for example my KMS has a relay that switches at a predetermined point, you can put RPM in it and Load factor, then when thats passed, it would close the relay and lock the magnetic clutch.

I sorta regret not going that route myself.

I would recommend getting a weber... I don't imagine the stock carb would like being turbo/supercharged. and that's if you can even re-jet it to work at all.

other than that, flashmn said it all

Stock carb works just fine if you put it inside a pressure box, then the carb wouldnt even know its being pressurized.

would i have to cut a hole in the bonnet so the SC would fit in cause there isn't much space under the bonnet for another almost 30cm object to fit under the bonnet

wait a minute there, what are you trying to do. the stock superchager mounts to the back of the block, this isnt a V8 big block.

Hahaha...I was thinking just the same thing. Some people think of big blowers on top of V8's when they hear the word Supercharger

Indeed. The Toyota SC12 supercharger (or SC14 if you want a bigger blower, but room is more of an issue than) bolts to the back of the block, under the intake so to say.
But it doesn't neccesarely have to be a Toyota charger off course. Eaton or Mercedes blowers work just as well

ok so no cutting but imagine having this lil blower just partially out of the bonnet i think that would look cool oh would it be possible to actually put the supercharger like the v8 big blocks and turbo the thing aswell obviouslly with better internals and stuff or just running a lil turbo on like 5 psi would n e thing like that work? you'd possibly get no traction since it's front wheel drive but it's only a thought

Holy run on sentence batman....

Whats the point in putting it above the hood, no point. You wouldnt need new internals to just run 5psi with a supercharger or turbocharger.

it fit under the engine lid of an mk1 mr2... but a pontiac 3.8 s/c has been used on a 4age in an mr2 (top mount)....

but if you're using a toyota then mount it where it fits.... it's all going to be custom anyways....
