another strut cross-reference question...

ok, so it's fairly common knowledge that you can put certain model celica or MR2 cartridges in the GT-S front struts and be good to go...

(if you're just learning about this, do a search)

now, are they actual strut shells the same? e.g. could I take a celica front strut and throw a koni yellow in it and slap it on my car?

if so that would be awesome, because finding junked GT-Ss in maryland is impossible. And my crappy GR-2s are pretty blown at this point...

Look on the KONI site and look at the (part)numbers for the inserts. look if they pair up for other Toyota's and there you have it. Struthousing should be the same than

I've looked it up in the KYB catalog, I'm just concerned that the strut housings might be a different length or have different brackets or spring perches or something.

do you know the length of the cartridges you're looking at? I can measure some gsi struts I have in the garage....

hrm... would you be interested in selling the gsi struts?

I just need some struts that I can put cartridges in. my SR-5 struts are sealed.


I haven't looked at any of the other struts yet, I just know there are a few MR2s and Celicas in the junkyard. do the struts on your MR2s look the same as your corolla struts?
