DIY home depot lip...sedan

Hey, ok guys you've been wondering so here it is a Diy for the home depot lip for a sedan (will work on coupe).

--supplies- garage door sealer, double sided tape 3m, box cutter, screws, and drill

1) start by getting underneath your bumper (if you have jacks use them) and place the top side of the sealer flush with one side of the bumper. Drill a screw at the very end of the bumper. This is your starter piece

2) next start drilling screws along the underside of the bumper making it flush. Drill a screw every 2-3 inches.

3) when you get to the bend or curve make a v shape slit at exactly the point where it has to curve.

4)continue to drill screws in the same fashion, and make a slit when you get to the next curve. Then cut off excess garage door sealer liner.
(optional)

5) with that remaining liner cut out shape that resembles this shape (v) Next make one the exact opposite angle. Also make sure they are the same length

then use the double sided tape and apply it to the back side of the new small strips (look closely at the picture!!! this part maybe confusing). Next apply the tape to the lip on the car, carefully remove the backing of the tape as you apply it, don't rush.

6) then your done yeah!!

well i hope this helped... and maybe its good enough to get sticky'd, ren huh huh

yeah you can go completely around instead of two strips, just make a longer one that fits like the two.
-i just put the gap to give it a little something extra... but to each his own Lol

ewww i went to Home Depot and to my chagrin, they only had white garage door sealer.....are there any other materials that can be used? the lip looks mean, i really want it on the front and back, or maybe just the front. garden edger works i heard.

nope dude, it has to be garage door sealer, other materials don't have the shape needed. I can understand why the would make it white. Keep checking, but if worse comes to worse you could always by satin black spray paint and paint it black. keep looking... if you have any other questions just ask

yea one more question. its kinda hard to follow this DIY, maybe im just not understanding something. did you first mount a piece, then mount another piece under it? that's what it looks like. and, if possible, whats the name of this? maybe ill google it and find out a specific brand or something...

Hollowreaper13 inspired me to do the same HD mod haha. I have the same model as his car. This guide at a Mazda MX6 forum can elaborate a bit: http://www.mx6.com/forums/2029891-post10.html
