Does anyone know if there is a 6 speed transmission that would fit an 91 corolla ae 92? I don't know if its even possible.
yeah, the C160 transmission off a Japanese AE111 blacktop 20V 4AGE will fit with some modifications. Good luck finding one without and engine attached to it though.

The only time I have ever seen one is with a complete engine swap with the Black Top.
Personally I would NOT want it, for the simple fact that should it ever break you are F*CKED for parts.

I read on WheelsJamaica.com, where somebody put one onto his 16V 4A-GE. He was saying that was the best mod he ever did, because it wes easier to keep in the power band.
I think another guy put one into a Starlet Turbo, and he was happy also.
I believe some of the later C160s have limited slip differentials. If you get one of those, you might need to change the axle shafts, otherwise it should just pop right in.
You will need the 6spd shifter, or you will have to do some trimming on the housing of the 5spd shifter to be able to engage all the gears.

Modification: Changing something to what you thought it should have been from the start!
Japanese engine shops, that's your only bet... they usually sell them attached to the 20V 4AGE motors though.
Maybe check an AE86 site like club4ag.com where someone with an AE86 Corolla would have done a 20V swap and has the transmission left over since they're RWD cars.

are there any japanese shops you can think of? i don't know any.
no the 2000+ Celica GT-S has the C-60, not the C-160. and as far as i can recall the C-160 will just bolt right up to the 4A block...
Thats what I thought. Especially because if Toyota couldn't come up with a newer and better 6speed tranny in 5+ years then they would be looking pretty shabby.

because i haven't seen the transmission before, and had no idea that there was a 6 speed that would go on i have a retarded question. is a 6 speed transmission longer than a 5 speed? i haven't seen a 6 speed before so im curious.
Hmm. After reading this, I'm deciding whether to modify my project plans a bit...
4AGZE with it's factory 5spd stuck on it or scrap the 5spd to the 6spd. I do plan on making the 4AGZE into a 4AGTE-R.... I just threw the R in there cuz it looks nice...
