where is the connector? you shouldn't have to wire it in, the plug from your harness should just plug right into the back of the radio.

unless the plug has been cut out. if thats the case the p.o. prolly had an aftermarket deck installed and cut it out so he can keep it.

ok to make it more clear, im wiring a 92 corolla radio in to a 88 corolla wiring harness... but the 88 corolla dosn't have the plugs anymore and the 92 corolla dose. but the two dont match..

also, im racing it, it's totally striped down and i olny need 1 speaker the one under the steering wheel.. and i don't know if it matters but the 88 is a manuel and the 92 is a atuomatic "SE" model.

and i have to get the radio to work or i can't race it.. its some silly rule..

They probably provide information to the drivers over a short range FM system. We use that at our autocross club (when it works), but for us it isn't mandatory.

Just find the following wires:

12V Accessory (from harness or fuse box)
Ground (ground anywhere on the chassis)
+ speaker (run new wire straight to your speakers)
- speaker (run new wire straight to your speakers)

You can also wire in a 12V constant so it remembers things like the time and radio stations.

This should get your radio working using either zero or one wire from the factory harness. It will greatly simplify your wiring.

its to keep the cars stock....

and its called Miller Tire/BF Goodrich Thunder & Lightning Cars, thunder being honda civic's & Volkswagens "and there is none.". and lightning being everything that can't run with the civic's.. like neon & cavaliers & sunfires.. so on and so forth.. my car is a mint corolla that still should be on the road.. olny rust on it is where it has tire rubs.. its a top 20 car.. not the best but ok.. i olny jest started driving 1 year ago.. and i hopeing this will be my first race.

yes they should, go to walmart or CanTire and go in the car section, look for the stereo wiring harnesses and find a Toyota harness for the older Toyotas and look at the back, it gives you a list of all the Toyotas using that harness type. I think Toyota used the same plug right up to 2000, so I'm not sure why yours doesn't work, unless you got one with a preamp, meaning the plug from that stereo goes to an amplifier and then the amp has the plug for the speakers and etc..

Only thing I can think of is you got the wrong plug, should be 2-pc.

Here's a pic, Scosche says its a 1987and up Toyota harness.

BTW where in Canada are you?

post pics maybe... I think someone cut the wiring on your car and had an aftermarket deck on there, you're probably looking at the harness from that deck and not the Toyota one.

I found a couple of links on google to diagrams.

For a newer 2002 Camry (probably other models too)

Audio wiring diagram to help replace Toyota Camry factory radio stereo
