I will be taking pics later when I get home, or on my lunch break today, and ill add them to the appropriate steps...dont worry, i know pics say a thousand words lol
BTWWWWWW im not 100% sure but this only works on Sedan, i think the coupe just has a yellow lens, not a clear lens with yellow behind it. you can actually feel/move the amber plastic, it kind of unclips if you press on it from inside the trunk with the white lamp holder removed, but it cannot come out from there, you do need to follow these steps:
OK, well in order to get the light assembly off, you need to:
1) Unclup the wires off the light assembly bolts. they should be little beige clips that have a loop that the wire goes through. They just pull off with little effort. If you have to, just pry em off
2) a 10 MM socket (iirc) removes the 4 bolts on either lens cover.
3) It is wise to do this on the hottest day possible, as the assemblies are black glued to the body, not just fitted, so you really have to push from behind and use some sort of plastic prybar or something on the outside lip and get the lights off...the glue will stretch for about a foot (at least it did when I did this in 89 degree weather) and dont worry, these are pretty tough so dont be afraid to use some POWAAA
4) once the lenses are out, and there are two nasty, gooey holes in your car, unscrew the 3 little phillips head screws in the middle of the lens holding on the black plastic line that separates the reverse light/blinker and the brake lights. *the screws are on the inside of the assembly
5) ok, now that the lights are out (dont forget to unclip the white lamp holder off the back of the lens!) get your apron on, cuz its time to bake. i didnt preheat the oven or anything, i just put em in cold then turned the oven on to about 200 degrees. let them sit for about 5 min, take them out, and, without burning yourself try to start taking off the black line starting on the side that would be closer to the middle of the car (if it seems impossible, put them back in the oven for a few minutes) . the black strip is "slid" into the outside, then it sort of just lays into the middle. theres glue holding this in, so make sure the lights are hot enough so that you dont break the strip because of cold glue.
6) Now, its all about getting the reverse/blinker lens off. I just used a flat head (of course i chipped the edge of the plastic, so be careful) and gently pried off the clear from the black. Its very easy to crack or chip the clear, so make sure you DONT focus the prying on one spot of the lens, after a little playing around it should be a little easier to just pull off by hand. again, though, make sure you dont crack it by pulling it off like I did lol
7) This step is obvious, just take out the nasty amber plastic. (no pic lol)
8) i put everything back in the oven for a minute to warm the glue up, I have heard that reheating the glue too much ruins it so I only put them in the oven for like 2 minutes @ 200 degrees. Then, press (with a towel or something with the light assembly on a soft surface, like another towel) the lens back on and immediately after put the black strip back in, starting with the outside of the lens. this has to be done quick, or else the strip would look like it was removed. Then, replace the 4 little phillips screws so they pull the strip back on, flush. Then, put the lights back in the car holes, replace the bolts that go on the studs (These studs are very fragile, i slightly over tightened one bolt and the stud just twisted off with it) but tighten them enough so they are flush again. make sure the glue is somewhat neat looking on the car body, as it would look kinda crappy if the glue is bulging out of the seams. after, just make sure theres no leaks, and then presto, your done. dont forget to reclip the wires on the bolts.
like I said, ill take some pics later, not sure if im taking pics of the glue and all that, but its pretty simple. any questions, please PM or ask on here.
