... go to any gas station and tell them you think you lost it there. The guy behind the counter will haul out a cardboard box with 40+ gas caps and let you pick one.

do gas caps have all the same size, universal fit?

There are a couple different styles. Most Toyotas use the ones with about an inch of plastic threads. I think it's the most common type but I'm not really sure.

The first one I grabbed out of the box this afternoon fit my Celica (I bought my car without a gas cap).

that's so true..... worked at a carwash (long ago) that was part of a gas station and there were tons of them in boxes.....

I left mine at a gas station and then remembered what I did about 2-3 hours later.
It was still where I left it on top of the pump. Guess nobody steals gas caps!

...or if they dont have any you could just wait there for someone to show up in a toyota and check their oil, and then run up and go "yyyoink!" and run off laughing like a mad man.
