short in some electrical device, could be the diode bridge in the alternator too thats causing the drainage.

how old is your batt? mine was draining last month every day, same thing...was dead every AM. I checked the Alt, checked all the wires I could find and I made sure the system was hooked up right (i assume you dont have a system). Turned out it was my battery. I assume you are jumping it when you want to drive? every time you jump a battery, it loses some of it's life. so, if it's dying every night and you jump it every day, your battery is the first place i'd look. bring your car to AZ or some similar store. they can check your battery. most likely thats your problem. Does your car die when you drive? any lights seem more dim than usual? then your alternator is going. hopefully it's your battery. ALSOOO, check the water level in ur battery. If your batt has them, remove the covers on the top with a flat head screwdriver, and pour in some poland spring until its overflowed, then replace the covers. That was a problem with my brother's GF's Corolla, the batt. was dry. Just a few tips to help a brotha out

^huge help btw lol

Well, if you checked with an ammeter that something is definitely drawing 1A, then the problem may not be your battery. A bad battery that looses it's charge won't show a current drainage on an ammeter. Keep the ammeter on while you start pulling fuses. Check it after each fuse and you should be able to narrow it down.

Def not do that, mineral waters kill a battery fast.

get some battery water from a parts shop, its distilled without added minerals etc.

If the water has evaporated though and the lead plates are in air, its practically dead as when they get into contact with air, they corrode and the gunk ends up in the bottom shorting out the cell.

Thanks for the help everyone , I have a new battery and I connected an ameter to check current out of the battery, then I pulled the fuses inside the car and still had about an amp going nowhere . But it comes and goes so that makes it really hard to find . Does anyone know if the alternetor can cause this ?Lenny

I know it doesnt fix your problem, but a new battery should be able to handle a 1amp draw over night no problem and still start up in the morning lol. But yeah checkout the alternator as well.

BUT after a while...then what? lol check the ALT, bring it to AZ or something, have them test it. worse comes to worse, you need a new alt, runs a few bucks. easy to replace. good luck
