what part is this?

thanks to all who helped me with 92 corolla,
did the adjustment of tps and cleared the code, ran smooth for about
3-5 minutes, then started to stutter again
and threw a new code 71,which i believe is egr?

i pulled to vacuum lines that lead from firewall to brass sensor/valve
that has a white plastic adjust screw, spring tensioned
that connects to the egr valve, what part is this one.
when i pulled lines, engine idled smooth again, couple minutes later
started idle changes.

i guess i can slowly replace every part on engine until is new

anybody have any ideas,anybody?
thank you

I just realized that you are in california haha. I have a diagram that will help i think. this picture came from my dealer service tech manual. not the joke chiltons.

so anyways I believe what you are talking about is the vsv. the other diagram I have shows it is connected via wire to ecu and vacuum sensor. so my guess is when you adjusted the tps it threw off something else. adjust one thing and you gotta adjust them all. the vsv is also connected to the water temperature sensor. so i think that's why it's running fine until the water temp raises then the sensor tells the vsv to close when the motor is not under high vaccuum and that's probably causing it to run differently.

i could be wrong but the tech manual i have is pretty in depth. let me know if you need any more vaccuum diagrams or anything like that as I have every diagram of every part of the car. "literally"

hope this helps man
