Was wonderin if anyone did a 3sgte conversion on a ae/ee90/92 and instead of converting the 3s to fwd made the car 4wd instead.
i know it would b loads of work & $$$$$$$$, but was thinkin it would b a good project after hearing of a 4wd nissan b11 using the pulsar setup.
Was thinking about getting the celica front cut swap the suspension & engine in the rolla, and probably the rear end and tank to. Dont know what year would be the best swap though.
Any suggestions or comments on parts, concerns, links would be appreciated. thanks
first, the frame is not made to accept the Celica GT-Four/All-Trac suspension
second, the 3S-GTE is a LOT bigger than the 4A-FE
also you will need a corolla 4WD frame(frame number AE95/AE94, you can see it on the firewall, dont check on the VIN number), as the FWD frame need heavy modification in the back to accept a differential
and as i already said :
TOYOTA CARS ARE NOT MADE OF SOME FRAKKING LEGO BLOCKS!

I understand that they are 2 different vehicles and that there would b a fair amount of fab worrk to be done, as i have read the fwd conversion for the 3sgte to swap into a ae92.Even if i get the rear end from AE95/AE94 will it wont b strong enough to hold the power from the 3s that is why i suggested the celica rear end.

LOL!!!
Did you take note of where trolla is?
You greatly underestimate the capabilities and imagination of people in the Caribbean.
The term "shady tree mechanic" has real meaning down there. I have seen some things done in Jamaica that would marvel you. if those guys want to do it, and have the resources, it will be done. How about a Honda Jazz (smaller than the Fit) with an Acura Integra engine.
trolla, check out those guys at wheelsjamaica.com and see what they have to say. Maybe somebody there has done it, or is thinking about it and you can exchenge notes.
Whatever you find out, share it with us please.

HaHa ah real like that one "shady tree mechanic" i prefer to think of us as resourceful, thats a good one will try the jamaicans and update u all on my findings. thanks
I've actually seen that!
A strong mango tree limb and a couple of ropes become an engine hoist.
When all the luxurious facilities aren't there, you have to do with what you have.
Inventive, resourceful..........yes those words fit.

OH snap! I have a maple tree in my front yard... could it double as an engine hoist when I do my swap?
No. If you don't have 95deg F. with 80% humidity, it just doesn't work the same.
