Average RPMs vs speed

So I'm trying to determine if or how bad my clutch is slipping on my 91 GTS.

What RPMs should I see for certain speeds in a certain gear?

if you punch the gas and the rpms spike before the car accelerates the clutch is bad. if its not slipping when under heavy acceleration Id wait to change it.

if the clutch starts slipping it'll pretty much go all over the place. if the rpms are at a consistent value when you're driving around than your clutch isn't slipping.

GT-Ss have pretty short gears, so on the highway it's pretty normal to see 4000+ rpms

I have a friend that swapped a C52 into his SR5 and he said 5th gear was what his 4th gear used to be....

Wow, you're not kidding when you say they have short gears. I've never used 5th gear on a car so much just to get around town and still be around 3K rpm! I guess it will just take some getting used to. To bad the fwd cars don't shift as nice as the rwd when you have to shift so much.

My GT-S with the 4A-GE and original gearbox would turn about 3700 RPM at 70mph.
With the 7A-FE engine and gearbox from the '95 Corolla DX, it turns about 3150 RPM at 70mph.

And I agree that 5th with the GT-S gearbox is about the same as 4th with the '95 DX gearbox.

Oh, I just love my swap. My car is a lot quiter and feels less busy on the highway.
