Im not too well versed in wheel offsets. I would like the wheels to sit nearly parallel with the fenders. I think this should allow me to use a wider wheel as well so I can run wider tires and have a bigger footprint. the rims that I have now were on the car when I bought it 4 yrs ago. so any suggestions?
here i a pic of where they sit now.(close but no cigar)
tires now are 195 50 15
I have 205/50/15s on mine on 15x7 wheels and I think they are really flush.
here is a picture of the car before I put spacers on the rear. The front offset is +35 the rear I added 10mm spacers to the rear to make it a +25 offset
my front tires still rub a little bit though at full lock.

thanks for the info. dont mind rubbing at full lock because I try to avoid doing it anyway. no rubbing on the struts ? if not maybe Ill check and see about some 215's, was hoping for something like a 225 though.
I might be able to fit 225s on. they'd definitely fit on the back (spacer gave me 10mm on each side, 205+20 = 225)
I don't know about the front though.
I have APEX springs on it. they're a 1.7" drop I think. I really like them.
nice very subtle(the drop). they good over potholes and everything? what shocks you got em' paired with?
I guess if I went slightly past the fenders I could probably fit 225's on the front and rear. probably be able to go with something like a +15 or +20 offset on a 15x7.5 or 8 wheel with 225 50 15's.
thanks

pot holes are fine, it scrapes on speed bumps sometimes though (I have pretty vicious speed bumps in my neighborhood). I have GR2s on it that are now blown... I would get some koni yellows if you want them to last.
you'll want 225/45/15s. 50s will be too tall (the middle number is a ratio based on the first)

I will be running 15x7.5 et20 up front on my car and they sit pefect for me, but I am also running 195/45/15's so if you up the tire size you'll be rubbing on a lowered car(not sure if that something your doing) unless its a very stiff setup.

Probably a 15x7 et25-35 you would be happy with.
hankook ventus are an extreme performance summer tire. that's what all the miata guys use.
toyo makes at least 1 summer tire in that size too
you might not want to daily drive a car on them though...

if you run wider wheels... say a set of 15x7.5s with a 20-25mm offset, you might get away with fitting them in the car, 8inch wheels will not fit unless you do some major fender rolling. As for tires 195/50-15s maybe even 195/55-15s would be your best bet OR you would start rubbing somewhere.
I think 205/45-15s would be nice if you don't like the stretched look of the 195s on a wider wheel, but 225s would be overkill, people complain of rubbing with 205s I can just imagine 225s.
