Question How to replace valve cover gasket?

I got a 1991 Corolla that's making a mess from the valve cover. I was just wondering what is the proper way to replace the valve cover gasket. What unbolts first, what comes off second. I've rebuilt a ford engine before, but all cars are different. I rather make sure than just tackle it and making an even bigger mess. If you have a link with details on that I would appreciate it. Also should I inspect or replace anything else while having the cover off? Thank you.

Anyone with a good link I'll give you some kickcat point.

ohh and Ignore my avatar picture, that's my other newer Corolla.

just replace the valve cover gasket, spark plug seals, and nut seals

once you have pulled out the spark plug wires and breather lines, removal sequence goes like this:

1. undo valve cover nuts
2. remove valve cover

you might find a haynes manual useful. they are pretty cheap.

That's what I was thinking since its just a valve cover gasket. Should I check for anything else while I have it off?
