I don't see why not. it should be the same bell housing as a corolla c50 or c52 and they fit fine.

I think it will, being "A" engine blocks, they should all be interchangeable.
I am not sure about this either, but I think it will require that you use the clutch for the C50/52.

Thanks for answers, so the tranny will fit, and what about flywheel? The 20v one has 8 crank mounting bolts, and the 4afe have 6...
And the 20v fly is 212mm in diameter, is this going to be a problem?

I would say probably not, you'll probably want to get a 4age clutch.

So the better deal is to go for c56 tranny?
Will my 4afe axles be compatible with 4age gearbox?

it depends, if you get a blacktop with a c56 the clutch condition is a mystery. you might still have to change it. the c56 does have shorter gear ratios though.

yeah, the 4afe axles are compatible. I just put axles for my old c50 into my new c56 yesterday.

Oh. thank you for time and answers...
And what about gear linkages, are they going to fit, from c50 to c56?

yeah, they're the same. the transmission is a direct swap. even your old mounts will fit.

The linkage will work, but you will probably need to modify the shifter mount to get more lever throw, by a bit of grinding at a few key locations.
There is a thread on here for the C160 installation into an AE92, it should be the same for your Celica I think. It is in the Read Me section at the top of the front page of the AE92 forum.

Link below
fitting c160 6-speed into ae92

From what I have read, the LSD gearboxes use a different axle, and they are not interchangeable.
So if you get one with LSD make sure you get at least the stub of the axle that goes into the gearbox (I think they call that the tulip).
The rest of the standard axle fits that, I think. (not sure)
