I haven't posted in a while, but I've sure been searching the archives whenever I needed some info.
My daughter got T-boned in her 88 GTS last week, and I'm kinda thinking about removing some parts and selling them. I'm not going to deal with a parts car mess in the shop, so I want to keep it a rolling chassis before I tell the junkyard to come get it. It still runs fine, it's just hard to drive with the RR strut jammed into the tire.
Would this be worth my while? I know parts are hard to find, but I figure I can do 2 weeks of parting before I need the shop for other projects.
Anybody need parts for a '88 GTS? any idea what their worth?
Looks like most of the car is in good shape so you should be able to sell a fair amount of parts out of it. And someone will surely give you at least a few hundred for the engine.
Hope everyone is ok.
We were T-boned in an ae92 sedan a few years back by an SUV that was speeding down the bikelane. The hit was even across both doors and I was in the passenger seat which was lifter up and moved about a foot to the right. In the end the corolla was up on a flowerbed facing the opposite direction and I walked out and had a sore shoulder for a few days.
Sorry I just felt the need to share a story.
Like Ghostyman said, everything looks to be in great shape. You should be able to get some cash out of that.
Any ideas for your daughters next car?
First... how is your daughter? From my background in vehicular collision physics looks like she got a bit of lateral and angular acceleration ... probably a little sore the next day. Having grown daughters I can understand.
You should do well parting out the car or possibly there is someone nearby that will take the complete car off you hands for parts.
Keep us posted.

Thanks for the replies guys, and yes she's fine. Just a little shook up. It was her first car, first ticket, first wreck etc. So I let her handle all the phone calls (insurance, police, etc.) so she knows that it's not a one day thing.
What's the best way to advertise this thing? Craigslist? Ebay? Classifieds? It still runs great, but I can't fix it with the crunched B pillar. Not a lot of dismantlers up here, and I hate to send it to the junkyard for $250.00.
Sorry to hear about the accident and glad to hear that your daughter is ok. Too bad you are so far away otherwise i'de pickup the entire car off ya. Im currently trying to restore my 88 gts. But yea like the other guys said, its probly easier to sell the car as a whole than to part it out.
