It all depends on what your objective is.
A supercharger will give you more immediate response to throttle movement, but will not be too good for top end power. Good bottom and mid range torque.
A turbocharger will have a slight delayed response to throttle opening, but is better for top end horse power.

Ofcourse you do realise that the "Blacktop" has a high compression, which is not suited for much boost. If you want to go more that a few pounds of boost (probably 3-6lbs max, I am guessing) you will need to change to low compression pistons to maintain any reliability.

I suggest you get a book called "Maximum Boost" by a guy named Corky Bell before you make any decisions about boosting your engine.

in the 20 valves realm, N/A go for blacktop, for a engine with a supercharger or a turbocharger, go with a silvertop

the 4agze will be your best bet for any sort of forced induction, and if you want to go super charger, it's already there

I second that.
You could then turbocharge it like 89rollagts did, if you want more hp.

Few corrections:

1) A properly sized turbo has little to no lag and a supercharger isnt as instant as people say.

2) A supercharger properly sized will provide nice boost at high rpm aswell as a turbo.

Supercharger is progressive, the faster the engine rotates, the faster the supercharger turns, thus the more boost you'd get. On the E-class the M45 eaton starts to give nice power at about 3000rpm after that it just zooms. On my corolla the turbo starts to provide boost at 2500rpm.

Its all upto the end user and what he wants.

You are quite right, but I was just giving a short generalized reply, since from his questions I didn't think he was ready for details. That opens the conversation up for more variables.

First I think we need to know what is his performance objective.

When you say you want acceleration, do you mean for drag racing, or do you just you want a quick street car?

For what you want, I would say go with the 4A-GZE.
The AE101 would be my choice.
