Red face O2 Sensors?

I need to replace the O2 sensor in my car soon. I noticed that they are expensive as hell!! However, they also offer a universal O2 where you just splice the two wires in. Anybody here use one of these? they are considerably cheaper.

I've used them on my sedan and they seem fine. Count yourself lucky you don't have a four wire O2 for a GTS like me. They are impossible to find up here, I got quoted $650 for one locally!

That's not right... I bought one for my 90 GTS from the dealer for $150 plus tax for the aftermarket (not universal Plus8 or some brand like that) they also offered me OEM Denso for $325 I think it was.

I also checked around for other aftermarket places and got quoted from $180 to $225 plus taxes.

Try finding an NTK sensor, they're NGK's sensor division, so yeah they're better than most no name brand ones.

This is results from their search engine, for some reason it doesn't give you a direct page link.

I'd use universal on 1 and 2 wire applications but on 4 wire (esp. in CA) I'd stick to OEM fit. I tried a 4 wire universal for my 4 wire CA O2 sensor on my pickup and non of the wires matched color or description. I returned it and got an OEM one.
http://www.sparkplugs.com has NGK DENSO BOSCH
www.oxygensensors.com has DENSO and WALKER

All were under $120 for my '90 GTS

sorry... I just realized I put universal as opposed to "aftermarket" on my thread, it was a direct plug into the OEM plug, just not OEM Denso branded.

the NTK is also direct plug, I just bought two of them (one used one slightly used) from someone in BC.

Yep, they quoted me $650! No one else even listed the 4 wire version. I didn't buy it of course; online through a US part place was the cheapest.
