New toy! 1989 Corolla All-Trac wagon

Hey everyone,
I just purchased a sweet little '89 Corolla All-Trac wagon - it rocks! It was meticulously maintained by the previous owner, and I plan to baby it. The only issue is the condition of the shift knob; 21 years of manhandling has left it pretty gnarly. Can anyone recommend a good site(s) to shop for parts? I'm looking for a really simple billeted knob, and I'm really trying to avoid the 'Kragen' look...

Well, I'm going to go drive the Rubicon trail now in my sweet DeLorean/80's-subaru lovechild.

Pics up soon!

Hi. The only one I know and have seen in the back of car magazines is magauto.com They state they deal with Toyota parts.

Any Toyota-compatible shift knob should work. Just avoid the generic ones with set screws.

Check it out! It's hard to make out the '80s red pinstriping - bigger and better photos to follow!

You can fit a shift knob from a Lexus IS300 on our cars... I have one and it looked nice, I have the TRD ball knob on my car now, but here's a pic of when I first got my car... I know, I wasn't taking a pic of the knob in particular so you can't really see it in full but it gives you an idea.

here's what it really looks like.

That's a negative on the cupholders - my coffee rides squeezed between the driver's seat and the parking brake. The car did come with a Dead Kennedys tape half-stuck in the deck, so I'm willing to overlook the lack of proper beverage restraints.

I did some various experiments (starting/backing from a stop on an incline; acceleration in all gears) and am happy to say that the transmission and clutch are in fantastic working order. The transmission is picky about how you change gears: if you shift quickly or with any amount of force it grinds a bit going into gear. No issues if you shift like my grandma. I suppose this is the "soul" of a 21-year-old car...
